Creative Word Spark: Trash

Have students think about the word “TRASH”
What does it mean, what is it?  Think of other connotations of the word beyond the simple  ‘waste’, how about something cheap, or no good, to ruin something, ridiculous…any more?  What do they have in common ~ they are all negative.

Have students heard the saying “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”? Why is this relevant in today’s society (hint: reduce:reuse:recycle)?

What can we, as individuals, do about trash?
